In honor of March 31, International Trans Day of Visibility—and the other 364 days of the year—we’ve rounded up organizations fighting to improve the lives of transgender people in America. While many organizations you’ve heard of, from the ACLU to the Human Rights Campaign to GLAAD do a tremendous amount of work for the trans, non-binary, and intersex communities as part of their larger missions, this list focuses on organizations that have centered those communities specifically. Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund is committed to ending discrimination based upon gender identity and expression and to achieving equality for transgender people through public education, test-case litigation, direct legal services, and public policy efforts.
The TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation (TKPRF) aims to enhance the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming youth and their families. We strive to create more acceptance and understanding in society through a message of unconditional love, awareness, and tolerance.

THIS aims to empower and enrich the lives of intersex people while working to end shame and create visibility through education, community events, and the arts.
