Pocket API: Existing Developers
Below is some important information to help existing Pocket (or Read It Later) developers get started with the new Pocket API:
If you do nothing, your current apps will continue to work. However, you will not be able to take advantage of the benefits or new features of the new Pocket API.
Step 1: Create a new app
Creating a new account will give you the new platform consumer key that replaces the API key you used previously.
Step 2: Migrate your code to the new API
There are a few ways to do this:
- If you are already using the Pocket Objective-C SDK, you will need to replace it with the new version of the SDK.
- If you are developing on iOS or Mac, we recommend updating your code to use the Pocket Objective-C SDK.
- Otherwise, you will need to implement the new Authentication API.
