Being on the tech side I’m not a fan of meetings typically but you can’t do away with them either; they remain the best way to get an insight into a company and the people you work with. In my experience, in a more corporate environment a lot of time is wasted getting pulled into unnecessary and unproductive meetings; in contrast on a small remote team you can become isolated without enough regular productive contact.
