Creo que los cambios políticos deben operar en una variedad de escalas, no se puede lograr cambios solamente desde lo local. A los geógrafos nos gusta ocupar el concepto del “salto de escalas” de los procesos políticos, lo que significa que debes moverte desde una visión local a una metropolitana, desde una visión metropolitana a una nacional y solo cuando un proceso político ocurre simultáneamente en distintas escalas, podemos esperar que las cosas cambien. Es un principio muy importante, porque mucha gente de izquierda está pensando que los cambios locales son lo único que importa.
