FollowTHIS is why Trump’s idiotic “America First” policy will ultimately leave us all poorer in terms of trade AND security. For over 70 years our investment in foreign relations and a professional military has paid dividends that have made the world collectively richer and safer—most especially the USA.
This is so frustrating. I remember being really excited when measles was declared eliminated from the U.S.—one more win for us humans over a devastating virus (one of my uncles is deaf in one ear because of measles). If people could just agree to stop being willfully stupid, we could do amazing things ALL the time, instead of in pockets and bursts 😒

I’m one more climate-change-denial away from throwing away my Liberal Bleeding Heart and resolving to let the South disappear into the sea. By the time they finally admit that they’re going under, it’ll be way too late to mitigate the situation—and blue states will, once again, have to foot the bill to rescue red states from their own self-inflected misery.
